Okkkayyy! So now you have all these gorgeous images of yourself and now what the heck are you supposed to do with them? I got you! I know we can be stuck just looking at the gallery when you first get them and then you set it and forget it. Next thing you know the online gallery is expired and you have to contact your photographer. So here’s the tea on what to do once you receive your gallery!
#1: Back, back, back it up!
In most cases, your gallery is online for a limited amount of time. Back those babies up multiple times. Photographers typically hold on to your photos indefinitely but things can happen and most of the time they are not required to hold on to them for you. Backing them up multiple times will ensure you will have them forever. Keep them safe!
My online galleries are available for one month after receiving and I still have clients emailing me to re-upload them months later. I do charge a re-upload fee because I do have to hunt through the ol’ hard drives but I will always have yours for you.
#2: Print those bad boys out!
Ok as much as we love the photos to post immediately on our social medias, it’s time to put them on your walls! There is nothing more satisfying than getting those pretty photos hung up somewhere for everyone to see. It’s a great decor piece to spice up your living room, bedroom, kitchen, or anywhere else! It’s always fun to pull a photo out of a box to look at rather than scrolling through the 4,863 photos on your camera roll to find it.
I offer printing but I also give all my clients personal printing rights so go right now and get them physically!
#3: Contact your photographer, people!
Take a minute to tell your photographer what you think! I know I can get hung up looking through the gallery and not even think to respond back. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, right? Wrong! Hearing back from clients mean the world! Sending out galleries can be super nerve wracking. I, especially, love hearing back from you all too! Sending a quick email back letting us know you got them and you love them means the absolute world, it’s fool proof!
