Have you ever wanted to plan a shoot but just don’t know if you want it in the morning or evening?
Don’t worry, i got you! You’re definitely not the first to ask!
When it comes to morning shoots there are a few things to consider:
P𝘳𝘰𝘴: great start to your day, the rest of your day is “free”, usually more natural lighting, can tend to be cooler, time of session doesn’t change with season (typically 9am shoots), usually available, most indoor places are open, usually less crowded at locations
C𝘰𝘯𝘴: waking up early to get ready, not golden hour, harder to work around work schedules (especially weekdays), can look more washed out in comparison
When it comes to evening shoots there are a few things to consider:
P𝘳𝘰𝘴: plenty of time to get ready, golden hour, easier to fit in with schedules (on any day), usually look more tan (if there is sun)
C𝘰𝘯𝘴: whole day is revolved around your session, sometimes hotter in the afternoon, time of session can vary based on season (based on the sunset), first to get booked, most indoor places are closed, can be more crowded at locations
I wouldn’t call any of the cons for each deal breakers, but definitely things to consider.
The actual weather that day (sunny or cloudy can add additional factors but both are great for photos).
